Small Renaissance Two-Piece Buffet, 17th Century

Piece of furniture two-body Renaissance period in solid walnut in the Renaissance taste richly molded and carved with cherubs, arabesques and garlands of foliage. The upper part, recessed, opens by two doors with molded frame in half round and with defoncement. The pilaster of the central part and the ends are decorated with rings and cords holding garlands of leaves and fruit falls. Above, a secret drawer presents motifs in relief. A finely carved winged angel is surrounded by arabesques. This drawer is equipped with an interior mechanism allowing its opening.
The lower body rests on a large projecting molded base, supported by galette feet. It opens with two leaves with frame and recessed surround. The doors on the left side close with two original iron rise and fall elements, the door locks, keys and entrances are original. The carved moldings repeat the motifs of the upper part and the drawer in the belt also has a hidden mechanism.
This set is topped by a capital with geometrical forms. The sides are composed of a single panel for each of the two elements. They have a central diamond with a depression and triangle.
All the locks and entrances are original and perfectly authentic.
