Vintage Design
Turn of the 20th Century, French rustic farmhouse gateleg table.
Made of pitch pine.
Made of pitch pine.
3 board centre piece.
with 5 board rectangular drop leaves either side.
Baluster turned under-frame, with moulded stretchers and a 2 drawers, 1 with a lock.
19th Century.
At a guess, late 1890s.
One of the gatelegs has had a repair where a split has occurred.
Repaired by a previous owner by nailing it back through.
I did think about getting it fixed but I’m a dealer who likes history.
That repair is part of its life and I don’t want to take that away.
Still supports the drop leaf very sturdily.
A beautiful piece which would look good in any farmhouse cottage.
