Vintage Design
The Arcadia 100 table, like other specimens designed by Magistretti and produced in these years by Artemis in the series of reinforced resin furnishings, offers a new aesthetic closely linked to production technology. Arcadia is made of GRP, Glassfiber ReinForced Plastic, a thermosetting plastic material, consisting of a dense plot of glass fibers impregnated with polyester resins. Arcadia is part of the design objects conceived by Magistretti by exploiting the “Resistance per form” system, a way to give rigidity to the plastic materials on the basis of the geometric configuration that is impressed on them, and a design concept already experienced in other projects, by Selene chair at the Chimera lamp, at the Stadium table and others. The performance of the GRP, in particular the strong resistance to the impact, to the flexions, to the scratches and to the high temperatures, together with the unalterability to the atmospheric agents make it suitable also for use outside.
