Dutch company Pilastro ( Zwanenburg ) became succesfull during the fifties, producing many symbolic small furniture. Designer Tjerk Reijenga created this modular system for the company, he also designed the famous ‘musical scale’ coat rack. Together with Tomado, Cadovius and Pastoe, Pilastro was the leader on the market for metal household furniture. The pilastro parts are pictured in the 1960ies ‘Goed Wonen’ decorating magazine.
