Napoleon III French Empire Bureau Plat Desk in Gilt Bronze

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning original Napoleon III French Empire desk with gilt bronze oversized fittings A very decorative and collectible desk in period lightly restored condition throughout. The desk comes complete with all original gilt bronze fixtures and fittings including two keys for the locks. It has four large drawers to the front, the left drawer is a very large single drawer with a safe drawer inside, the top has been removed at some point. There are some signs of the original maker, a pencil signature to the base which is very faded, the gilt bronze feet are serial number stamped which looks to read BG699 The patina is lovely and original however it’s period so has all the normal marks you would expect from a piece this age.
