Vintage Design
Arne Norell was a Swedish furniture designer born in 1917 who founded his first workshop in Stockholm in 1954. He later moved this to Småland and founded the company Norell Möbel AB there, which is now one of Sweden’s leading seating furniture manufacturers. Norell was known for his eclectic designs, combining different materials such as wood, leather and metal. His most famous pieces include the Ari armchair (1966), which was named “Showpiece of the Year” in 1973, and the Safari Sirocco chair (1964). After his death in 1971, his daughter took over the company, which continues to produce his classics to this day.
